You want to launch your tea brand without building a plant. This is how co-packing works: process, costs, timelines and what to ask your co-packer.
Launching a tea, aromática or infusion brand does not require building a production plant. Co-packing — manufacturing your product on a specialized third party’s infrastructure — is how most beverage brands in Colombia are born. Here is the full process.
What is infusion co-packing?
It is an agreement where you bring the brand and the commercial vision, and the co-packer brings formulation, raw materials, packaging and a production process under sanitary standards. You sell; they produce.
The process, step by step
- 1. Concept: define your line — panela aromáticas, teas, functional blends — and its audience.
- 2. Recipe development: blends are formulated and tested until they match your brand’s flavor profile.
- 3. Packaging: choose the format — square or pyramid filter bags, nitrogen-atmosphere packaging to preserve properties, sachets for powders.
- 4. Production and delivery: batches at your scale, with quality control at every stage.
What to ask your co-packer before signing
- Do they work with traceable Colombian raw material?
- What minimum production volumes do they handle?
- Does the packaging preserve the product’s aroma and flavor?
- Can they also support the technical sheet and sanitary registration?
Why co-pack in Colombia?
Exceptional local raw material (high-altitude herbs, panela, tropical fruit), competitive costs versus importing finished product, and proximity to iterate recipes fast — impossible with a supplier across the world.
At Gold Flower we co-pack tea, aromática and infusion lines with almost a century of growing and processing experience: concept advisory, recipe development, packaging and raw material supply. See the details on our services page or write to us to get started.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need INVIMA registration for my co-packed brand?
Food products require sanitary registration or notification. A good co-packer guides you through that process as part of the service.
